2016 – We could not have “made it up” any better!
Jojoba and Vitamin E oil
Mineral Body Shimmer
At the beginning of the year and in line with the Keep-Fit-post-Festive-Season glut of inches around a lot of people’s waists we reminded everyone how easy it is to get healthy glowing skin by launching our 1-2-3 Steps to Fit Skin Combo: https://outsidetheboxmakeup.co.uk/product/1-2-3-fit-skin-combo/
This was launched to rave reviews from the internet Beauty Blog- Tea on the Tyne: http://www.teaonthetyne.com/2016/05/outsidethebox-makeup-review.html
Also at this time and in preparation for our new Vintage Range, we held a PR event at Thornbury Castle near Bristol. It was enticingly called”Makeup and Cake in an English Castle” ( What more does any girl need!?) https://www.thornburycastle.co.uk Read about this here: https://outsidetheboxmakeup.co.uk/1940s-hair-makeup-creative-workshop/ it received brilliant reviews from the Beauty Bloggers invited to attend to review the products.
Our second promotional event for our Vintage Range was at the Dig for Victory show which was a 1940s event held at Wraxall near Bristol where Outsidethebox was invited to do the makeup for a 1940’s Wedding and Bohemian style shoot by http://www.bramblewoodflowers.co.uk The model for this was the wonderful Lucida Davidson a young, talented actress who has since agreed to be the Face of Outsidethebox Artisan Makeup and Skincare! https://www.facebook.com/lucindactress/?fref=ts
Our Vintage Range can be found here: https://outsidetheboxmakeup.co.uk/product-category/vintage/
Much fun was had at these events and would not have been possible without the support of the very talented Outsidethebox makeup Team including: Makeup and Hair Artist Natasha Leigh Massey of Chantilly Hair and Tantilly Beauty https://www.facebook.com/chantillyhairdesign/
Following this success, Natasha and Jules, founder of Outsidethebox Artisan Makeup and Skincare enjoyed working together on a Wedding Shoot at Walton Castle, Clevedon: http://waltoncastle.com Thanks to all the models and participants who enabled us to get some fabulous images as well as the Wedding Show at The Webbington sponsored by https://www.facebook.com/AllThingsBridalWSM/?fref=ts
One of the most revealing and touching shoots of the year was with a young lady called Misty Blamire; read her heartwarming story here https://outsidetheboxmakeup.co.uk/i-life-warrior/ Our huge thanks to all at Esteem Visions Photography http://www.esteemvisions.com We have worked with some beautiful models including Deanna Baigent, Rachel Eloise Norton, Natalie Roberts, Laurie John, Sophia Lydia Kayan, Kate Sheratt, Sam Sleeman, Sheila Blamire, Page Louise Teyhan and we can only apologise if anyone has been missed from this roll call!
Ellie Lyne of Ellie Lyne photography used our products as part of her portfolio for this year’s work. We were delighted with the results and have used the pics widely as they effortlessly promote the beautiful essence of our gorgeous natural products. Contact her for your commercial photography work here: https://www.facebook.com/EllieLynePhoto/?fref=ts Ellie also introduced us to George Latham who also used Outsidethebox products in his finals project on self expression. We were delighted to help.
Our sponsorship of some of her makeup shoots by the uber talented Gemma Louise Williams was another testimonial to how great our products are in different situations; they are not only for everyday use or for those with sensitive skin! http://www.thewhiterabbitmakeupartist.co.uk/ The White Rabbit will whisk you away to the Fantasy makeup scene of your heart’s desire! Please check out too her entertainment company: http://valerianentertainment.co.uk
Quarter 3 took a slightly different tack with Jules, who is trained in skin camouflage, volunteering at MacMillan’s Look Good Feel Better Makeup Masterclasses in Bristol and surrounding districts. Touched by what she saw, Jules has decided to launch her own offer to help those suffering the effects of Radio or Chemotherapy- read about this here https://outsidetheboxmakeup.co.uk/know-someone-suffering-side-effects-cancer-treatment/ ( if you know of anyone this could benefit, please get in touch). Not only that but Outsidethebox decided to take offline marketing to Markets in and around Bristol and the West Country. Jules loves demonstrating the benefits of the 100% natural, vegan friendly products. There is nothing better than seeing the delight on customer’s faces when they realise these products are super beneficial to their skin issues! Listening to our customers, we extended our product range to include vegan friendly natural Mascara https://outsidetheboxmakeup.co.uk/product/natural-mascara/ and for the party season..there’s our gorgeous Body Shimmer! https://outsidetheboxmakeup.co.uk/product/body-shimmer/
The beginning of the fourth quarter of 2016 saw the Outsidethebox Markets’ attendance rise and a decision was made to invest in a van that would also act as an effective marketing tool… as it was beautifully sign written…designed (as is our website and corporate image for our products) by Chris Wakeling https://www.facebook.com/seepops at Seepops Creative.
We have met others along the way but perhaps one of the most inspiring is the Founder of P and G Skincare Carol Aplin https://outsidetheboxmakeup.co.uk/our-collaborators/
Carol and Jules have like minded ethos and values when it comes to Makeup and Skincare i.e it should be cruelty free, with no harsh chemicals..and make you feel gorgeous with no bad side effects. Try our Eye Love Serum (https://outsidetheboxmakeup.co.uk/product/eye-love-serum/) and Body Butter (https://outsidetheboxmakeup.co.uk/product/body-butter-neroli-frankincense/). We have some amazing ideas for our continued collaboration in 2017. Watch this space!
Looking forward to next year, Outsidethebox will continue to spread the word about the benefits of using a mix of Jojoba and Vitamin E Oil with Mineral makeup..its simple but so very effective. Also look out for Bespoke Foundation Creation Sessions, where Jules will mix minerals to create your unique Foundation just for you! You can even name it!
So, we hope you have enjoyed a whirlwind tour of our year? We are convinced we have (not intentionally) missed some people who have supported us at the beginning of the Outsidethebox journey. There are too many wonderful loyal customers to list here…of course without you we wouldn’t exist! It is true to say we probably don’t offer you a normal approach to makeup and skincare…but we ask you, please: “Define normal” ?! We believe we have a unique product offer and that Outsidethebox Artisan Makeup and Skincare has and hopefully will continue to have, the pleasure of serving you all as valued customers in 2017.
We wish you all great happiness over this coming festive season and much good health and good fortune in the New Year.
